Atlanta Jobs have an Iron Grip on Perseverance
Atlanta has been one of those cities that has struggled to find what it wants to be when it grows up. Thousands of people move to Atlanta every month, that’s hundreds per day. Atlanta has long been considered one of the most desirable places to work and affordable housing promote a soaring quality of life.
- 27 Fortune 1000 companies call Atlanta Home. The Coca-Cola Company, Cox Communications, Acuity Brands, Gold Kist and The Home Depot to name a few of Atlanta’s Fortune 1000 players.
- Just a couple of months ago India’s Wipro Technologies Ltd. planned to open a software development center in Atlanta, the facility will employ 200 people. There are over 4000 IT jobs listed in the Atlanta area and Robert Half Technologies Index finds that 10% of CIO’s plan on making new hires this quarter.
- The City of Atlanta currently ranks third in the nation among cities with the most Fortune 500 companies falling short of New York and Houston.
In addition to working with the Masters of the Universe, Atlanta has a Grip Iron hold on small and mid-sized companies and plenty of free-lance and service inspired companies. Atlanta businesses total nearly 150,000 and employ over 2.3 million people and we expect more than 60,000 new jobs in 2008.
So who cares if Atlanta has an identity crisis and doesn’t know what it wants to be when the city grows up. As long as the IT companies keep moving in, Atlanta will stride with technology in the global market. The Fortune 1000’s and the Fortune 500’s can and will continue to acquire each other and battle for top positions. The point being: We all win.
The fact is, despite the recent real estate slump there has never been a better time to move to Atlanta and certainly never been a better time to buy or invest in Atlanta real estate. We may never see housing opportunities like this again. The job market is strong and poised for growth; thousands of people relocating every month and Fortune 1000/500 have laid the heavy foundation for a prosperous Atlanta.
