Across its 15,000 acres, the city features more than 125 neighborhoods nestled within four distinct "villages"--Braelinn, Aberdeen, Glenloch, and Kedron. A variety of architectural styles is available to suit each resident's individual taste, with homes priced from the $100s to more than $1,000,000.

One of the city's most distinctive features is its network of golf cart paths. Winding through wooded greenbelts and curving around scenic lakes, the paths connect the city while allowing residents to connect with one another.

The 70 miles of paths link neighborhoods, schools, restaurants, shops, and recreational areas. They also give residents a place to enjoy nature, whether they're rollerblading, biking, jogging, or just riding in their golf carts.

Peachtree City is part of the Fayette County School System, one of the best in the state. All schools are fully accredited and have received a grade of "excellent," the highest grade attainable, from the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges. Students from Peachtree City are served by the following schools: Braelinn Elementary, K-5 Huddleston Elementary, K-5 Kedron Elementary, K-5 Oak Grove Elementary, K-5 Peachtree City Elementary, K-5 J.C. Booth Middle, 6-8 Flat Rock Middle, 6-8 Rising Star Middle, 6-8 Whitewater Middle, 6-8 McIntosh High, 9-12 Sandy Creek High, 9-12 Starr's Mill High, 9-12 The system boasts modern facilities, special programs for gifted and remedial students, low teacher turnover, and attractive class sizes. In addition to academics, the system provides students with a wide range of extracurricular activities. In 1986, an Adopt-A-School program was initiated. The program partners schools with local businesses, community organizations, or individuals. There are presently over 100 adopters in the program. Educational opportunities on the college and vocational school levels are easy to find in the surrounding area. Just north in Atlanta, students can attend such schools as Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Mercer. Atlanta, Griffin, LaGrange, and Carrollton all offer vocational training at their technical schools.

Recreational opportunities in Peachtree City are vast and varied. The city was built around three championship golf courses. Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron offer nearly 500 acres for sailing, canoeing, fishing, and just plain relaxing. The city's facilities also include four swimming pools, a soccer complex, an ALTA-approved tennis center, baseball, softball, and football fields, a 2,000-seat amphitheater, a BMX track, a Senior Center, a teen center, numerous parks and playgrounds, and the most recent addition--the Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center with its multiple indoor pools. The city's recreation department offers a diverse array of programs for all ages throughout the year. Youth athletic programs include softball, baseball, roller hockey, soccer, football, basketball, cheerleading, track, swimming, and BMX bicycle racing.
